Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens

Lal Bagh is a famous botanical garden which was created by Haider Ali and his son Tipu Sultan and later developed by the British. This beautiful garden which is around 240 acres at the heart of the Bangalore city is a marvel laid by Haider Ali in 1760 and subsequently beautified by his son Tipu Sultan. Later during the 19th century, the British added several beautiful features giving it a modern look. The name ‘Lal Bagh’ reasons with the teaming red roses in the garden.

Lal Bagh is famous for its flower shows which are held here on important occasions, especially during Republic Day and Independence Day. You can also find trees imported from many countries like Persia, France, Kabul and China, some of them are more than 100 years old.
